Longitudinal Riding

What is Longitudinal Riding?

A significant portion of riding is in straightlines, also called Longitudinal Riding.  Riding not in a straightline is called Lateral Riding and includes turning. Longitudinal Riding includes the following Cycling Scenarios:

  • Starting up
  • Riding Flats and Sprinting
  • Ascents and Descents
  • Stopping
